ROLF Category: Systems Management ROLF is an integrated forward-recovery solution that provides an added layer of security for applications using VSAM® as their data repository. It ensures that VSAM datasets can be recovered up to the point of failure, keeping data loss to a minimum. It supports all types of VSAM files and all types of CICS® journals, with the exception of the SMF data set. There is no need to shutdown the CICS system in order to back out changes to a damaged file after the failure of CICS dynamic back out. The ROLF recovery program can forward recover up to 2500 files from one journal.
