ADAMAGIC
Category:
Data Transfer
a data extraction utility that easily converts mainframe ADABAS files into ADABAS for UNIX/Linux/Windows, flat file, or comma-delimited formats. ADAMAGIC reads ADASAV (mainframe) or ADABCK (UNIX) backup tape(s) to extract data for one or more selected files.

ADAREORG
Category:
DBA
A utility for reorganizing and restructuring ADABAS files. ADAREORG allows DBAs to respond to changing requirements by inserting and deleting fields, normalizing PEs and MUs, etc. It assists in tuning efforts by helping reorganize files. For example, by moving the most frequently accessed fields to the start of the physical record, ADABAS field decompression overhead is minimized.

ADASTRIP
Category:
Data Manipulation
A utility for fast, efficient extraction of ADABAS data from backups and directly from databases. ADASTRIP is suitable for recovering historical data from old backup tapes, creating test data, extracting subsets of data for deferred processing, removing historical data from the database, exporting data to another database, and more. It can reduce the ADABAS load by allowing processing to be performed on extracted data, eliminating the overhead associated with accessing ADABAS. By extracting a copy of the data from a backup, effectively "freezing" the image of the database at a point in time, ADASTRIP facilitates analysis that requires static data.

AUDITRE
Category:
DBA
A generalized auditing facility that uses the ADABAS Protection Log to identify changes to ADABAS data. Extensive reporting and selection criteria are provided.

CHART
Category:
Application Development
A powerful and accurate tool for application analysis and documentation. CHART draws program calling structures, using the source code of your applications, on-line, in seconds, across all your libraries. In batch, CHART can completely document all the objects actually used in your system, with no mistakes.

DPS
Category:
Data Transfer
Data Propagation System for ADABAS-to-RDBMS Data Transfer. Modeling and data transfer of legacy ADABAS data into modern RDBMS-based platform for Internet/Intranet/Business Intelligence applications. Treehouse Software designed these products to meet the demands of large, complex environments requiring product maturity, productivity, feature-richness, efficiency and high performance.

DPS X-Link
Category:
XML Management
DPS X-Link is a "plug-n-play" middleware that provides client applications with fully-automated, real-time, read/write access to ADABAS data and metadata in XML format. Absolutely no coding of middleware is required -- DPS X-Link is a true "plug-n-play" product that drops right into your Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). DPS X-Link's remote API components provide COM, DLL, Java, and SOAP/WSDL interfaces to easily enable any imaginable Web Services, client/server, or SOA configuration. And its SOAP/WSDL capabilities make it instantly deployable with any of the new BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) enabled servers/orchestrators now available, so incorporating ADABAS access into your SOA / Web services is easier than ever.

DPSync
Category:
Data Transfer
In today's environment, critical business decisions must be based on up-to-date information. Whether it is management reporting or customer purchase/status information, your decision-makers need the most current information available. A solution that requires extensive custom programming to get desired information or one that slows down your production applications is not acceptable. Robust and mature components are required. Treehouse Software's DPSync is an off-the-shelf, total solution for native, real-time transformation and propagation of ADABAS data to RDBMSs that is fast, comprehensive, and minimizes the impact on production applications.

ESPCONTROL
Category:
Change Management
A Change Control System for NATURAL on Open Systems.

N2O and N2O/3GL
Category:
Change Management
A change management system for NATURAL, which migrates NATURAL programs, PREDICT objects, and SYSERR error messages across local and remote nodes. N2O offers on-line and batch migrations, multiple levels of authorization, audit trails, reporting, target compilation, XREF integration, automatic archiving, program compare, and check-out/check-in of source code. N2O includes a Project Tracking Subsystem and full NATURAL application documentation tools. N2O/3GL is a separately priced N2O feature, which supports the migration of 3GL members, such as COBOL, JCL, etc., stored in PANVALET, LIBRARIAN, ENDEVOR, or MVS Partitioned Data Sets (PDSs).

NatCDC
Category:
Database
While the primary purpose of the PLOG is for use as a data recovery mechanism in the case of a system failure affecting ADABAS, the data contained in the PLOG is ideal for use as a source in providing Change Data Capture (CDC) from ADABAS. The problem is that PLOG data must be carefully processed in order to convert it into a usable format.Fortunately: Software AG delivers utility programs with ADABAS that are specifically designed to work with PLOG data. Unfortunately: These existing utilities fall very short of providing a complete answer for delivering PLOG data into a usable format. Many organizations requiring CDC from ADABAS have hand-written custom processing to leverage these existing PLOG utilities. This hand-written approach, however, does not lend itself to the rapid delivery of needed CDC. Furthermore, once these custom CDC processes are written, they become in-house applications that must be maintained if file layouts change (which they often do), and/or the requirements of CDC changes (which they always do).NatCDC is the NATURAL answer that leverages the PLOG utilities Software AG provided with ADABAS, and provides for the graphical generation of NATURAL programs to handle the output of these utilities to produce usable CDC from ADABAS.

NatQuery
Category:
Database
In examining ways to handle extraction requests for data that resides in ADABAS, it is impossible to overlook the fact that Software AG developed NATURAL specifically to provide for ADABAS data reporting. As a result, it is virtually a given that your organization has historically solved the issue of extracting data from ADABAS by utilizing NATURAL programs. However, using NATURAL to provide for data extraction from ADABAS requires expertise and time, especially when the required NATURAL processes are hand-written. Once created, more expertise and time will be required in order to handle any needed maintenance or enhancements. The answer to this problem is simple: a full GUI tool that has NATURAL data extraction intelligence built in, and the automatic ability to quickly "learn" the nuances of your ADABAS source files. The combination of intelligence and file-specific knowledge then provides the expertise needed to allow a user to intelligently generate and execute data extraction processes without any need for programmer or IT intervention.NatQuery is the NATURAL answer to ADABAS data extraction and replication that leverages the inherent power of what NATURAL was designed to do, while at the same time removing the need for any in-depth training and/or knowledge of NATURAL, ADABAS or any of the other intricacies of the operating system on which NATURAL and ADABAS reside. You already know how well NATURAL works with ADABAS. NatQuery simply allows your organization to use NATURAL even more effectively than you do today.

PROFILER for NATURAL
Category:
QA management
A powerful quality assurance and testing tool for NATURAL applications, helping a site to identify untested programs, unexecuted statements, weaknesses in test data and procedures, inefficient code, poor application structure or design, and inefficient database access methods.

S/REXX
Category:
Emulation
A macro language that emulates the IBM mainframe REXX language on UNIX and Windows systems. S/REXX can be used to create macros for SEDIT, perform system administration functions, and develop applications. S/REXX supports programs of virtually unlimited size, continuing any number of nested parentheses, variables, etc. S/REXX supports Motif or OpenLook dialog boxes, including those with buttons, toggles, and input zones. S/REXX also interacts with C programs and UNIX system commands.
